Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

Memorial Week Whoo Hoo!

Its been an exciting week at the Binns House. On Thursday night, Clay fell out of the bed and put his teeth partway through his tongue and knocked loose one of his teeth. There was so much blood that I almost passed out and had to sit down on the floor. Thank goodness Richard is a Volunteer Fireman and can handle such instances.

I treated the injured and his doctor with Milk Shakes from Chick-fil-A. It seemed to help! Clay is one tough little boy. He has received very well! I think he just wanted the tooth fairy to come :)
Summer time is so fun here in NWAR-so many activities. One that my kids just love during those hot summer hours are the $2.00 Kids movies each Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am. Below is a list of upcoming movies. I hope to see you there!
I hosted my last playgroup this past Thursday :( I have been in this wonderful group for over five years. I can't believe my baby is going to Kindergarten in August. Time has flown by so very fast.
I took this picture of Clay because I think it is so funny that he has to use the biggest spoon he can find to eat his cereal with each morning. If I would let him, he would use my serving spoon. Even at such a young age, BIG is BETTER!
Oh, Memorial Weekend was so much fun! We went to the Tulsa Zoo (See pics below) and then we had dinner at one of my favorite places, The Cheesecake Factory. Be low is a picture of my favorite cheesecake: White Chocolate Raspberry! Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. You must try this yummy dessert sometime, and please feel free to invite me to join you :)
The Cheesecake Factory recently introduced a new Skinnylicious Menu with meals for under 600 calories. Below is the entre I enjoyed: The Grilled Chicken with rice and veggies. It taste even better than it looks here. It made two meals for me plus I shared it with my little boy Clay. I never knew you could make low calorie taste so good. Yum! Yum!
It was rather warm, but the Binns' family had a great time at the Zoo. I loved watching the boys experience the various animals.
This Binns in Bamboo is my favorite shot from that day. It exemplifies why Richard is the more fun parent. Richard saw this giant cluster of Bamboo and took the boys on a mini safari. I am pretty sure this was a "No Trespassing" area of the Zoo! But it was a great adventure for the boys. I am so glad they made it out alive :)
Below is how my boys act when I try to take a photo. It takes a while to get a normal smiling face.
My favorite animal is the Giraffe. They are just so elegant. I wish you could tell in this photo how tall they are. This is such a brilliant example of God's creation!
We all loved the Lions. The Papa Lion even yelled out a Big ROAR for us. It was exciting!
Caleb's favorite animal at the Zoo was the Black Bear. He spent the entire moment until we made it to the Bear section asking, "When are we going to see the Bears?" I am so glad this bear was out and about or I would have had one sad little boy.
Clay and Caleb both loved the petting area. That about rounds up our time at the Zoo!
Last Saturday I was walking to the Farmer's Market and I walked upon this amazing display of artwork plastered across one of our Down Town Buildings. As i got closer, I realized that these photo's looked a lot like one that my son had brought home from school. I was so excited when I found his painting on the wall. I learned that each 1st-6th grader in our town (about 8,000 kids) had made a picture and it was now on this wall as a Mural. Its called Wal-Art and was sponsored by Walmart. So cool! Clay was so excited!
This past weekend, Caleb's Soccer Team had their end of year party. Here is Caleb with Coach Jack (a kind and dedicated coach) just after he received his medal! He was one thrilled little boy. I had a lot of fun watching my boys play soccer this year through our city league.
In the photo below, the Coach just asked the boys, "Who scored the most goals this year?" :)
This Pink Snail is one of eleven pink snails of various sizes placed around our downtown as part of a community art exhibit. The boys had fun posing for this photo.
Last but not least is a picture I took of my boys play fighting on our Bed. Caleb was Underwear Boy! HA!
I hope each and every one of you have many amazing memories with your families this week. I am thankful for the Men and Women who have and continue to serve our country and make it a safe place for us to live and enjoy!

Genesis 1:31, NIV
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning-the sixty day.

God Bless America!
