Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

A Sticker ='s a Smile

I just wanted to share with you a simple suggestion that may bring a little extra joy to your little one's day.
All Kindergarten Mom's are supposed to send a snack to school everyday, which I love to do. Well, I had been placing little notes in Clays lunch box, but, being that he cannot read yet, I don't think they really impacted him in the loving way I had intended :) Also, Clay decided he wanted to start eating a tray at school.
Anyway, a few days ago, I decided to put a Posty note in the shape of a star with a little heart and Love Mom on it. I didn't know if Clay would like it, but when after the first day (and every day since) he came to the car wearing the sticker of the day, I knew it made him smile. He also wore the sticker until it finally fell off. He even has one on his dresser right now.
We think our kids need toys, bikes, video games, to bring them joy. But all our kids really need, is a little something that says "I was thinking about you today."
I hope you have a great, sticker filled, day! :)

  1. I did a similar thing with notes in Hagen's lunchbox. But, had the same problem with him not reading. This is a great suggestions! I can't wait to try it with both boys. Although I can't see Hagen wearing his!
