We had an exciting adventure over Labor Day weekend. The Binns family traveled to Pittsburgh, PA to visit Uncle Reagan, Aunt Kristy, and the boys. This McDonalds just outside St. Louis, MO, in Illinois was one of our favorite stops. I wish I could remember exactly where we were, because it was probably one of the cleanest McDonald's I have ever been too. The boys absolutely loved the playground. I loved that they had a law that said they had to wear sock!
This was another great stop - The Indianapolis 500 race track. The boys are squinting because they are facing into the sun. We took a bus ride on the actual track. It was so fun!
We made it to Pittsburgh and it was all smiles. The Binns boys had a blast from the first moment we entered Uncle Reagan's home. They stayed up playing and talking and being silly. Poor baby Carter wanted in on the action to much, but he just got left behind.
Richard and Reagan went on a beautiful and challenging bike ride on Saturday morning. I am sure it brought back great memories of rides they use to take while in college. However, I am not sure Richard had as much pain after the ride during his college days :( He had a great time though - soreness and all :)
We had a fabulous lunch at the Cheese Cake Factory in a really pretty part of town. It was soooo yummy! I just love cheesecake, especially White Chocolate Raspberry. We had planned for the boys the play in the splash park after lunch but it was too cool. I loved the weather. It stayed in the 70's most of the day. So nice.
After lunch, I laid down with the boys for a nice nap. The 18 plus hour trip had taken its toll on me. Richard snapped this shot because he thought it was funny. Many thanks to Reagan and Kristy to giving us their bed for the weekend.
On Sunday morning, Reagan and Richard took the boys to Duncan Donuts. They had a great time. Kristy and I got to stay home and rest and relax. It was so great. We missed church that day, which Clay reminded us later that was not good. On our way home Clay said, "Why did we not go to Aunt Kristy's church?" I didn't have a very good answer. Then Clay said, "But I wanted to learn about God." CONVICTED by my 5 year old.
The Binns Boys
This was sooo cool! This is Richard driving up Canton Road in Pittsburgh. This is known as the steepest road in America - 37% grade. It was kind of scary. As we drove by the top of the road, it was so funny to see children sledding down the grassy hill at the top of the street on snow sleds (without snow.)
