We took the boys this weekend to Kansas City for the Royals vs. Yankees game. Many thanks to the Ashworth Family for allowing us to stay with them! It was so fun seeing them and that precious baby. Before the game, we ate the most wonderful cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory - I so wish we had one close by, although, my pants would no longer fit if we did :)
Around 4:30pm we arrived at the Ballpark. The temperature was a whopping 105 degrees (not counting the heat index)! The boys were troopers. Caleb poured bottled water on his head to stay cool and we drank a lot of Mt. Dew and water. We were thankful for a light breeze and a few clouds. Despite the heat, we had good family time and enjoyed spending time with some of Richard's co-workers.
Clay really enjoyed seeing the ballpark, but Caleb was not as thrilled. He does not like fireworks, so when fireworks started going off after each member of the Royals team was announced, he was not very happy. Oh, well, all in all it was a nice trip. However, I think we will stay away from the ballpark in August next year!
