Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

A great day to Play and Puree!

My first puree - carrots
My second - broccoli
I love my new Food Network food processor!
Off they go! Thanks Chris D.
On your Mark...Brigham and Clay
Richard and Chris - on the Hill!

Snow Day Part 1:

Today got off to a great start - beautiful snow, fresh coffee, and yummy (Eggo) waffles. I then decided today was a good day to use my new food processor.

My friend Sarah gave me this wonderful new cookbook called Deceptively Delicious. You see, I have three boys (Richard included) that do not like vegetables. So, this book teaches you what vegetables will go well into different dishes. You puree them (hence the new food processor) and then put them (secretly) into the different foods you prepare. Today, I made carrots and broccoli. The dish I made - spaghetti. Did it work? Yes!! Richard and Clay ate it up and didn't even notice. To be honest, I actually thought my spaghetti tasted better. I cannot wait to make my next surprise dish.

Snow Day Part 2:

Richard and I took the boys to this great hill near Bella Vista, AR. There were many people there sledding down the hill. It was such a beautiful day and with the sun out this afternoon, the cold was manageable. Clay had a blast! Caleb had fun for a little while, then he just got too cold, so we moved to the heated truck. Clay and Richard continued to sled. Many thanks to the Davenport's and the Epley's for allowing us to borrow their sleds. Once again, we waited until too late to get a sled. They were sold out everywhere Richard went and called. It was a great time!

This afternoon, Richard and I watched a movie and the boys watched TV in my room. It has been a very peaceful day. I love spending time with my family. I am blessed!

I hope you all have had a wonderful and blessed day!
