Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

He Kicks. He Scores!

Today was such a great day! Richard got an early start biking around Bentonville with his friend and fellow IMPACT classmate Zach. He had a great time and is really loving his new bike.

The boys watched some Cartoons; we ate a quick breakfast, and headed to the soccer field. Today was picture day. I cannot believe my little boy is old enough for a sports team photo. It was only yesterday he was saying his first word - "ball".

After the team pictures, and a little snack time, we headed over the our game field. Clay was worried about playing because we had not been able to get him any black "fast shoes." Some of his teammates have cleats and he really wants some. I told him I thought he was plenty fast and he didn't need to worry about the shoes, but he is not convinced. Anyway, he has been discouraged because he has not scored a goal in a game yet. I have tried to teach him it is not about scoring, but he wanted a goal so bad! Well, today was a GREAT day!

It was the top of the third quarter. The boys were playing hard. I was cheering for the "Emerald" team - Go tigers! And then, as I watched to boys racing to the ball, Clay ran up and kicked the ball straight into the goal!!!! The crowd roared and the smile on Clay's face would have lit up the entire sky had it been night. I was just so excited for him! This one goal gave Clay an amazing amount of confidence for the remainder of the game. He was more aggressive (in a good way) and was just filled with joy. Richard and I were filled with joy too.

It doesn't matter to me if Clay scores again. I just want Clay to have fun, but I know that Clay will remember this goal for a long time and so will I. We shared a lot of High Fives today!

We had a great and relaxing afternoon. Everyone but Clay, including myself, took a long nap. It was wonderful! Richard enjoyed Impact Bible Study tonight and I played with the boys and we watched Little Mermaid. Today was just one of those days that makes me realize how blessed I really am. I love my family so much and I cannot thank the Lord enough for them.

I hope you will have a wonderful Sunday and spend special time with the Lord.

The Lord is good. All the Time!

God Bless.
