Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

A great day for Pancakes!

This morning I was feeling like cooking (which is a big deal for me ;); so, I asked the boys if they wanted Pancakes or Waffles. Clay said Pancakes. I thought that sounded great.

I was mixing the batter and about to pour the dough on the griddle when a wonderful memory came back to me from my childhood. My Dad always made our Pancakes in different shapes or letters. He would make a "B" for me and sometimes an airplane or some other design. Dad always made Pancake Day Fun!! I want to carry on this tradition. Unfortunately, I am not as artistic as my Dad, so I passed on making an airplane and made two letter "Cs" and their favorite other letter "J" - for Jumping J (from the Sesame Street All-Star Alphabet video.)

The boys loved their letter shaped breakfast and I loved remember a very special time in my life. What a great morning!
