Sweet Mrs. EthelEach year on Valentine's Day, Richard takes Flowers to several widows. The boys dress up in their Sunday best and hand a rose to each special lady. We have been doing this for four years and now, these wonderful ladies have Valentine's waiting for the boys. They expect them. I love it.
I love the smile on the faces of the women and I love the lesson in loving your neighbor my boys get. God tells us to take care of the widows and the poor and this is just a very small way my boys get to put this info practice. We are so blessed by these special people.
I am especially blessed by my dear friend, Mrs. Ethel Smith. I have had the pleasure of knowing her and meeting with her for almost 4 years. He will be 92 in March. She is such an amazing lady and filled with Godly wisdom. I really love and admire her.
James 1:27 (NASB)
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

I hope everyone enjoyed Valentine's Day as much as I did.

I am visiting your blog for the first time and I wanted to tell you.....I bought your book after seeing it on Kelly's Korner and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Everyday it speaks to me, I have my quiet time while I am waiting to pick up my oldest in car line so I am sure the teachers wonder why I have tears at times. God is really speaking to me and I am learning to be the godly mother He wants me to be. I am just on the 4th one and already it has been just what I needed and just what I have been dealing with. Thanks so much... I am glad I bought it and will be telling all my mom friends about it.
