Honestly, I didn't know if I would survive last week. Lots of fun and exciting events, but I think I was a bit over committed. The holidays can be overwhelming if you don't be careful. However, after looking over we did this week, there sure was a lot of great moments!
Monday: Passion Conference Planning Meeting; 4W Visitation Calls and Party Planning
Tuesday: 4W Luncheon and special dinner at my house that evening. Luncheon went smoothly, but during the final dinner preparations and minutes before our guest arrived, Caleb crashed into the corner of a chair - blood game gushing out - and Momma almost passed out!! Thank goodness for calm Daddy and helpful dinner guest who had a first aid kit in their car. We sure know how to entertain our friends!
Wednesday: Caleb's Christmas Party; Gift Delivery from the toys the boys chose to give away from their rooms to those in need (with much persuasion from mommy); Birthday party for a friend that night; and TV Night at my house for our Sunday school class. Oh, and after all that, Richard had a house fire call! He was excited to go, but I was a bit nervous! He made it home safely around 2am! Praise the Lord!
Thursday: Got some much needed sleep!! Then prepared for the weekends events!
Friday: Clay's Class party and finished sewing final Christmas gift. Date night with Richard! Yippee!! Thank you Vizenas. You are the best little boy sitters!!!
Saturday: My first book event!! Super fun and nerve racking! I loved it! Very thankful and I so appreciated all of my dear friends who came!; Saturday night - Sunday school party at my home. I really love our young adults!
Sunday: Church - which was wonderful; Lunch with friends - also wonderful; Got my hair cut and colored and my darling hair stylest, Mrs. Violet at Accents in Bentonville, gave me a manicure as a Christmas gift!!!! Wow, what a great gift! Love her! You should check her out!; Final Christmas party in Fayetteville that evening.
Crazy week. Looking forward to lots of pajama days this week. I am still in them today (Monday) and it is 12:30pm. As you can see by the photo I took of them this morning, it looks like this week will be full of exciting adventures.
I hope you have a wonderful week with your family and friends. Please take time to remember why we are celebrating - in honor of the birth of our dear Savior, Jesus Christ!
Luke 2:11 (NASB)
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Berkli, you are such an INSPIRATION. Your love of GOD is JOYOUS!! I am so, so happy that Kelly recommended that I follow your blog!!
ReplyDeleteAre you also blogging friends with Melissa Stafford? Well I just wanted to ask you a quick question - I think you can help! Did you read Melissa's latest blog post: a recap of 2010? In it she talks about Grayson, buying stuff for Grayson, and lots of other "my life is so perfect" kind of stuff. But here's the deal: in 2010, her husband Chad lost his father. There is absolutely no mention of this in Melissa's long summary of what has happened with her perfect family in 2010. Don't you find this... odd. Well not odd actually but downright cruel and uncaring?
I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Melissa didn't bother to go with Chad to the hospital and later to the hospice when it became very clear that Chad's father only had a few weeks left to live. Then - and this is the most incredible and cruel part - she couldn't be bothered to travel a few hours to attend the poor man's funeral when he passed on. Chad had to go all by himself. Would you do that to your husband? This has got to be one of the most selfish women I've ever come across, truly! I thought you should know
Happy New Year and all the best in 2011.
