Back in the Yard

Its 2015! Time to write a few blog posts. Since I wrote like 4 post in 2014, I am going to make a goal of 5 post in 2015. I don't want to set my standards too high! ha!

I look forward to sharing my current journey with you.

They Make Me Smile

  • Here, I will list recent examples of how my children make me smile. Kids are so funny! My hope is that it will encourage you to keep a record of those special moments in your children's lives that bring joy to your life. Those moments that when you look back on, you can't help but smile.
  • 3/26/2014 (Caleb) At dinner we asked the boys to name three words that describe them. Caleb responded, "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." Well, you can't get much more descriptive than that :)

Go Hide. Go Seek!

Richard spends many nights playing "Go Hide. Go Seek" with the boys (as Clay calls it.) Tonight, because Richard was out, I was asked to play with them. Important note: Before playing, Clay asked me if I would wear Red PJ's like his. How sweet is that. So thankfully, I had a pair of red PJ's and put them on. Clay seemed pleased.

Now, before we could start the game, Richard got home and he too was able to join in on the fun! The boys got their flashlights (a game essential), and the hiding began. It is so funny because Clay tells you where to hide and then when he and Caleb find you, you have to chase them and catch them before they can go and hide. Don't you just love the creativity of children.

You know, I never knew how much fun a game of hide and go seek could be. Is there anything better than your little boys looking at you, flashlight in hand, with huge smiles on their faces because they found you. This activity took no money and only a few minutes, but the memory will last a lifetime.

I love my boys, all three, so very much, and I am thankful Richard spends special time playing with them. I usually spend the evening "play time" on the PC or doing something around the house or maybe, out of selfishness, spending quiet time away from the action. I am glad God reminded me that I need to take time to "play" no matter what other activity I think I need or want to do in it's place. Mamma's do need "me time;" but I want to encourage you not let little special memory maker times get away from you. These opportunities come and go all too quickly.

Ready or not boys, here Momma comes!!
